Series A - Abstract
The original A series pieces are abstract works inspired by a tradition of projective imagery prevalent in psychology. Although the artist takes authorship in composing the original image, the viewers interpret the figures through the projection of their own convictions, views and concerns. The work's unique narrative emerges, and re-emerges, through this interaction between the artist's objective figure and a multitude of subjective projections.
Series I - Icon
The I series is a commentary on the commodification of entertainment and popular culture by the artistic recording and re-presentation of the associated cultural icons. The familiar icon is removed from its popular setting and 'repackaged' for the artistic setting. With the icon re-presented in gold leaf and integrated with gold bullion the popular icon is re-valued for a new audience.
"Geometrie" - Upcoming Series
"Geometrie" is an artistic experiment with surfaces, solids and the dynamic effect of light. Simple forms, dynamic surfaces and scalar processes inform this series.
